EIGHT
A downloadable game for Windows
Made for the Brackeys Game Jam 2025.2 Theme: RISK IT FOR THE BISCUIT Made in a week with Godot First time working with Godot and online multiplayer so this was a bit of a challenge!
KNOWN BUGS: - Spectators have been disabled as it was causing bugs. Maximum 2 players per server for the time being. - Unfortunately, I couldn't quite get WebRTC working, meaning the game requires port forwarding and won't work in browser.
EIGHT is a MULTIPLAYER 1v1 LASER SHOOTER
When you choose to PLAY, you will be matched with another active player
Thus begins the CARD GAME
Your goal is to be holding cards which depict numbers totalling EIGHT
You may ask for ANOTHER card or explain that you have ENOUGH
There are EIGHT cards (1, 2, 3, 4 x 2)
The number which your cards total will determine your LIVES in the SHOOTOUT
BUT if you end up with a total higher than EIGHT, you will BUST
Being BUST gives you a single LIFE in the SHOOTOUT
Cards are drawn until both players have had ENOUGH or BUSTED
Thus begins the SHOOTOUT
Now, to win, you must deplete the other player’s LIVES
You do this by charging your LASER and shooting them with it
The LASER takes time to charge, and time to cooldown
If there is already a 1v1 underway, you will SPECTATE

Install instructions
Just unzip, run, and enter an IP to join that player's server! The host is required to port forward for the time being: port 9603
If you have two PCs on the same network, you don't have to do any port forwarding, simply leave the address box blank and it will default to localhost. If one player hosts the other should be able to join!
Otherwise, port forwarding is fairly straightforward to set up with a bit of Googling. Port 9603 needs to be opened by the host. Player 2 must then enter your public IP, which can be found online.
If you want to challenge me, shoot me an email at enquiries.biotech@gmail.com - I'm happy to host!
